How Many Sessions?

Many clients wonder how many sessions they will need to achieve their goals.  This is a difficult question to answer definitively.  Your brain is unique and will respond differently than that of other people.  You may require more or fewer sessions than another person to see results.

Also, because the technologist is only providing information to the brain and not “pushing” it in a certain direction, we cannot predict what your brain will do with the information it receives.  However, based upon experience, we can provide a few guidelines around this process.

The Twelve Session Rule

Most of our clients notice that it takes about 12 sessions of brain training before they begin noticing shifts or changes in their experience.  Often, it is much quicker than that.   Most clients initially report feeling more rested, happier, and engaged with those around them.

Over time, these feelings intensify as other issues start to fall into place.  Changes you experience may or may not be related to the goals you came in with, but generally speaking, any kind of shift is a positive indication that the Brain Spa session is working as designed.

Find your “new normal”:

By the end of twelve sessions, most clients find that they have begun to entered into a “new normal” way of being.  The positive changes they noted during their first sessions are consistent and expanded.  Even when having a “bad day”, most people find that they are more easily able to return to a centered and happy state after the incident is over.

In the end, the more brain training you participate in, the more positive effects you can experience.  Much like learning a musical instrument or sport, the adage “practice makes perfect” applies.  The more sessions you undergo, the more flexible and plastic your brain becomes.

Set your own schedule:

Brain training is long lasting after 12 consecutive sessions.  You can stop whenever you are ready and you will retain what you have accomplished unless you experience a new trauma.   Even with a new trauma, most clients need fewer sessions to return to optimal conditioning.

After completing their first 12 sessions, many people choose to continue to train anywhere on a weekly, bi-weekly, or a monthly basis.  This advanced training further strengthens cognitive flexibility; allowing for continued growth and improvement.

Similar to the benefits of exercise for the body, Brain Spa sessions can be an important tool for brain health.  You can make Brain Spa training central to your personal brain fitness program as you age!
